Fight night in Chicago

Wow. This is why we're fight fans folks. Yeah we paid over a hundred dollars a minute, but at least we could say that it wasn't boring for a second. 53 seconds of head scrathin carnage. I was way off on my prediction. How could I have seen this coming? Golota just came off of two close contests against Ruiz and Byrd, who knew all it took was the strategy of non-stop flurrying?

Golota came out stiff and left, well stiff. I really don't see Golota coming back after that one, I think his contendership is over. After a pretty solid undercard the crowd was whipped into a frenzy only to quickly sink into confused disappoinment. As a non-member of the polish flag waving partisans I could only shake my head and laugh.

Speaking of the undercard, two people won who are now challenging for a title. Carlos Baldomir looked soft and unintimidating, but he was aggressive and crafty enough to get by. I'll give him two minutes against Zab Judah. Terra Garcia on the other hand won his second kayo over "the mongoose" Roshii Wells and is ready to take on the old folks at the top of jr. middleweight.

Looking at my picks so far and wishing I was a betting man

So far all of my picks were on target. Except for Corrales V Castillo and that was going according to plan until the round of the century in the 11th. Winky and Margarito's victories were both expected and surprising. I'm even more sure of the remaining ones. I did win something in a wager so far: a ticket to Golota V Brewster at the United Center. This sunday I'll post picures.
